JAPAN PART 3 - PETALS OF WONDER

when i was in japan i always got excited when i saw patches of colour in the distance since i knew that would 

= 

pretty flowers 

and this would then 

=

pretty pictures.

the area by my grandparents house was surrounded by all sorts of different and vibrant flowers. 

some were truly mesmerizing.

the last picture with the white flower is of a calla flower.

this beauty was right outside my grandparents house and i always spent a minute of the day gazing at it.

 it stood strong and fab for the whole three weeks i was there. 

the bright white of the petal never dulled, and it amazed me how pure and holy it looked.

usually flowers wilt and disappear after a short period of time, but this flower was a champ.

it was refreshing seeing something so perfect and delicate in this world that can be filled with so much craziness.

ROSES

these were roses that my mama received from my papa a little while back.

bold, simple, and a token of love.

i still don't understand why roses symbolize love. their beauty is so temporary and then it wilts and dies.

woah that was quite cynical^

shouldn't love be symbolized by a tree? 

speaking of trees, spring is fast approaching and buds are beginning to grow!

school is quite hectic right now so i haven't had much time to post. hopefully things settle and more pictures get taken.

HOLIDAY PARTY

over the holidays i went to a family friends house for 

post-christmas get together. 

there's just something nice and warm about the holiday season despite the cold outdoors.

p.s. the cakes above tasted absolutely amazing.

i happened to try 3 out of the 4...and i would have tried the all 4 if it hadn't already been eaten...#yummycakeproblems

p.p.s. yes, one of my new years resolutions is to eat healthy and to stay fit. i've got all year right?

LITTLE CRITTER
